WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO!!
HI! i'M BACK AGAIN!!! YAY...
After 60 hours or so stretching my eyeballs out looking at the computer and stressing my brain cells out... I'm still okey. Didnt feel sleepy for a bit after that many hours up. Oh well, enough said we all know why i'm here so regularly these days. Just an update from my latest "fall out brain cells" enjoy!

This is part of an illustrative booklet I create for a project at uni, I did the whole book based on design students' life and design process. Yep, we stressed we procrastinated and we're lil crazy..just a lil crazy trust me :D

JUNE!
It's been a very while that I write a blog again, and FYI I have a 1000 words Final Project pitch due in about 1hour. Yep, and I'm blogging.
No, I'm not being lazy. Reason: I usually updated my inspiration, thoughts, things I came across on the internet onto my Facebook. But..BUT..I've just "deactivated" last night, just because I promised my two girl-friends to join them for the "who can stay away from FB the longest" so I did. And now I have no other places to update my "research" to also I know I HAVE to update my blog sometimes soon...SO HERE'S THE CHANCE.
Oh well talking about my Final Design project. Based on the feedback my tutor given me; I pitch a draft idea to him and he liked it.
The idea based on my personal thoughts and experience as a Vietnamese. I often came across these people who argued with about the fact that 'I'M NOT VIETNAMESE'.... ? What the!!!
Anyways it also derived from the issues I saw within the Vietnamese community itself; that people who immigrated here or came here as refugees- hey it's not like I don't know the pain they went through over the ENORMOUSLY dangerous ocean because my Nan and my aunty was one of many of them. But my point is about their mind-set about their own race and nation, WHO IN THE WORLD DIDNT KNOW VIETNAM IS A COMMUNIST COUNTRY. But you are what you are, why ashamed, why looking down to your own race? The only way to make people looking up at you is to respect yourself-who you are, what you are.
My project will based on that concept, I wanted to create a "BOOK" that included photography, typography, quotes and stories based on Vietnamese here (in Sydney-Australia, I wish I have the money to travel around to see more people out there). The book will be a medium to get the message out there to embrace the beauty of a racial identity (in this case Vietnamese)
I would come across these politics thing about Communist Government thing, the Vietnamese FLAGS and so much more but am ready to listen to their LIKES AND DISLIKES as "being Vietnamese"
The language is another thing that I wanted to explore on because itself is an encyclopedia of "Languages" whereas the modern written Vietnamese language only known for about 100 years. Yep, that language that you see us writing now is VERY YOUNG. But the process to came up with our modern written/spoken Vietnamese today is a "big fat thick" history book. Also, the language is remarkably unique that says "VIETNAMESE" that embraces the cultural identity.
Just before I forget to tag what I initially came to Bubbles today for here's the link!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnamese_language

As a Vietnamese myself, when I looked at WIKI am was shocked to how rich the language is. Oh well for now, enjoy.
If anyone ever read this note, I'd love to hear from you your opinions on VIETNAMESE racism things you like dislike about Vietnamese what make you proud of being who you are what you are. TAG! please do leave me comments it means so much if you do xoxox.
PS: this blog is almost 500 words here, may be I should just link this blog to my tutor haha.

DECEMBER ALREADY!!!!
Though I'm on holidays but still can't be bother to write new entry for my lovely bubbly bloggy. All my latest works, inspiration had been updated on facebook.
However, I'm here today will not mention anything regarding my old works yet..but my up coming plan this holidays while I'm still free:
I'm going to design or make or have fun whatever you call it "A 2011 calendar".
Yep! It's a bit late to design that but I'm not worry about it much. It's going to be a private collection, gift/present to my friends and family. And hopefully towards the end of the year I can get my self motivated to make a yearly planner [diary] as well.
So far, I've collected few illustration works from my brother and get it ready for the calendar's look. We're still working on it and hopefully the calendar will be completed by next week before new year of course.
Wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!!!
Just a sneak peek at my brother's lovely illustration for the calendar!!!

beauty side of southwestern.
we had an appointment with the LDNCA- a community centre down in warwick farm today. warwick farm is much more than i've expected it to be. the last time i been to warwick farm was somewhat a decade ago for train-transfer. what i pictured it as a very desserted place-well it is but i've thought of it as a very dangerous place.
But today's meeting with them has changed my mind. Warwick farm- the name has it all, it is like you're living in a farm where your neighbours are your other family members; everyone know each other.
Pat Hall, the lady who did all the community works to help improving the community centre in warwick farm is much more like the mother of that place. She's well known, respected by every single individual from that place.
How cute they are, got themselves ready, expected, happily welcome us- the 5 members of the UTS design group to come over and have a "site-visit" to understand more about their lives there.
Here are just few pics from the day, we took better quality fotos but it's for the project purpose so it is very inappropriate to upload it up here. warwick farm shows me that there are places we considered as a NO ZONE, but no they dont deserve ignorance from the government and other communities. Just look at their works and we knew exactly how much this little community centre meant to them.
What i also find so cute is their FOOD 4 LIFE store, it's actually a little house where they opened up for the financial difficulty families. They paid $10 and walk into the store grab 1 or 2 quantity of each item per week. There are books, DVD, needs for crafty ideas etc. How nice to see that their community stick together to make it a big family.
We're the 5 members will go back there again for a proper filming and recording for our project. This time we will look at their garden etc.
THEY LIVE IN A VERY BASIC, MANUAL WORLD BUT THEY HAVE WHAT WE ALL DONT--HAPPINESS.
they have their little coffee shop set up in the community hall.
the setting is so CUTE that i wish there was something like this in fairfield.
i had a latte and a piece of cake. and guess what, the price of both is just as much as a single coffee in the city. they refused to take our money but we left them those anyways. they have no idea how much we appreciated their hospitalities.
after visited warwick farm, i wander around fairfield to all those shops that had caught my eyes but never have a chance to walk in 'cause of my weird uni hours. anyways, I LOVE SALVOS STORE. they have all those vintage stuff that i love so much. i can just buy the whole store. but anyways... these are what in my shopping cart and what i wanted to get.
i'm in love with this stool here, but what i dislike about this is the top material bit. i dont like to purchase vintage stuff with any cotton or material over-lay (except clothes :)) $35 too expensive? i just love the look
i bought pretty much everything from this cart, beside the 3 dollars clay pot

Elizabeth vs Vaucluse..
Apparently we had an excursion well uni we called it SITE visiting[-.-'']
But anyways, the project is all about interactive installation. We have to choose between Elizabeth Bay House or Vaucluse house and start to "invest" our ideas to create an installation to engage the visitors.
I dont know why am writing a blog here while I meant to write up blog over in my wordpress (it's part of the assessment) but i just can't be bother to. Or frankly said, I dont think i know how to use wordpress as much.
What i found interested much are the histories from both houses, imagined myself walking along with their histories, imagined their lives back then. Another fun fact i found out that the tour guide said needed to lit up 360 candles to light up 1 room *pheww* imagine just to light up 3 rooms for the entire house will probably take up the whole night- time for bed.
Anyways, enough talk let show. Here are some hit pics from both houses.
Elizabeth Bay house
the butterflies collection.. we're all wonder where butterflies live
interesting fact:
his collection at the time being could possibly worth more than the house of 28.1 hect.
mr turtle
The mcleay's botanical research
i love antique keys.. thought these are not that old [i think],
main entrance [on the side? so confusing]
the goth side of vaucluse
The courtyard reminds me of ancient Roman
where i was standing and took this photo is a planned "front door" the wentworth family wanted to build but it never happens since the society ignored their existence, hence it's meaningless for further renovation to attracts the high society.
the symmetry style of 18th-19th century where doors are made for symmetry purpose only
the hottest kitchen ever built.
well there must be part two, because i tried to upload more but my lovely broadband refused to work *sigh*. After these kitchen photos there are more beautiful stuff like wine cellars, herb ceiling, etc etc... just few more to complete my post but anyways...
bye for now, will upload when mr internet decide to be happy again.
love all (minus you mr broadband)
